Battle Report 5

Narrative

The loyalist imperial forces have come out of hiding, and have chanced activating a distress beacon to alert the Space Wolves to their presence. The loyalist Altimer forces are so run down from years of hiding, that this desperate act is perhaps their only remaining chance to survive their long struggle with the xenos invaders and those heretics who joined them.  The distress beacon has been activated, and the loyalist imperial forces have called for the Space Wolves to aid them. No doubt the Tau will also be alerted by the beacon. As the forces of the Tau bear down on the decrepit band, the loyalists can only hope that the Space Wolves have heard their call for help...

Game Notes

We placed an antenna array on top of one of the buildings to represent the distress beacon. The building does have an objective marker, but no special significance is placed on it. For this scenario, each player's force is split into three separate groups, each group with as even a number of units as possible. Only one of these groups will be deployed on the table at the start of the game, the others will arrive from reserve per the scenario rules. For the Tau Empire force, this group was determined randomly. For the Imperial forces, this group was required to consist of all Astra Militarum units, to represent the forces that activated the distress beacon. The Space Wolves will arrive from reserve, representing the force responding to the beacon.
