The Altimer Campaign takes place in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, and is a way for our gaming group to develop a narrative story that connects our games of 40k. This space was created in order to give us a convenient platform to share the campaign amongst ourselves, and anyone else who might be interested.​

The basic storyline revolves around the Imperial worlds in the Altimer System defecting from the Imperium of Mankind to join the Tau Empire. Built into this narrative are seeds that can be used to involve many other forces other than the Imperials and Tau. There is plenty of stories that can be developed having little or nothing to do with the worlds in the Altimer System. While there is a good amount of lore created about the campaign, we have also left much of it intentionally undefined, giving us the freedom to develop the story as we see fit. ​​

There are no specific rules that dictate how games are to be played or how armies should be structured. The goal is to simply play our games as normal, and drive a multi-faceted narrative forward with our games. There is no final goal, there are no campaign points, there is no way to win this campaign... Simply play games, and along the way create and develop our own small fragment of the Warhammer 40K universe.
